D-ANOY, "Rudolf Von Thüna"

To celebrate the tenth anniversary of Munich‘s new airport in Erding Moss, north of the city, a reconstruction of the legendary Ju-52 D-ANOY was unveiled at the airport‘s visitor‘s park.

In August 1937, Carl August Baron von Gablenz, Lufthansa CEO and a devoted aviator himself, was the first pilot to fly over the Pamir and Hindukush Mountains. With his legendary D-ANOY, he explored a new route between Europe and the Far East. A detailed model of this legendary plane, named „Rudolf von Thüna“, is now released in the 1/160 scale.
